I am an Assistant Professor at the School of Journalism and Communication at the Chinese University of Hong Kong. I received my Ph.D. and M.A. in Communication from the University of Texas at Austin and my B.A. in Communication from National Chung Cheng University, Taiwan. My research interests center on media effects, media psychology, and political communication. My work aims to bring insights about the use of emerging media and their impact on individuals and society in a high-choice media environment.
My current projects explore these areas: (1) mobile/social media and social capital, (2) counterattitudinal exposure and deliberation, and (3) second screening, political knowledge and engagement. My work has been published in the New Media & Society, International Journal of Public Opinion Research, Journal of Broadcasting and Electronic Media, International Journal of Communication and so on [my publications].
